Polyethylene Glycol samples on the UPLC

We have several HPLC assays that either have PEG (polyethylene glycol) as the sample, or a component of the sample. Is it ok to run these samples with the UPLC/MS? I thought I heard in training once that PEG would build up in the system. Does anyone have experience with PEG on the UPLC? Any advice is helpful!

-Karen Birdwell

The answer is yes, PEGs are usually avoided in MS, they are sources of contamination. There are alraedy some good posts on this subject. I just did a quick serach to bring up them up... searching on "glycol". Here is the link.
