Performing Internal Standard Calibration and Quantitation
It is possible to quantify a sample using an Internal Standard when the Internal standard is in a different injection from the others standards? Please note that all the standards and samples where in the same sample set. Thanks.

Hey,
It is possible if you make a custom field to reference to that injection.
For instance IS.1. CCompRef1[Area] where you label that injection as IS and fill the components name in your CCompRef1 field for the to be determined component.
However, that will take away the intended use of using an internal standard. As internal standards are used to take away the injection error from your system.
Now you are introducting two injection errors from your system into one or multiple injections.
I would recommend to not proceed with something like this.0 -
The final calculation is: ((AreaSample/AreaIS)*Stdconcentration)/(Ratio (Area ave Std/Area ave IS)0

Set your CCompRef1 to the name of the internal standard component.
If you need the AVE of the area make your custom field as a: IS%.%..AVE(CCompRef1[Area])
Add the summarize custom field to your sample set and process via sample set.
that way you should get a value for your custom field.
Still would recommend not making your own custom fields for internal standard calculation but restarting analysis with incorporating the internal standard into the standard and sample solutions.
That way you can easily use the inbuilt feature from empower for internal standard correction.1 -
Hi @Jovvor thank you for the tips. I have another situation regarding Internal standard calculation:
I have 2 standars and 1 internal standard (all in the same injections). The dilution of the standards are diferent:
Standard 1: (weight/25mL) (5mL/50mL) (4mL/10mL)
Standard 2: (weight/500mL) (5mL/50mL) (4mL/10mL)
In “Components” I am using the “Intenal Std” column to do the calculation. But what I could do to to correct the standard dilution?
Thanks

you could use your CConst fields for the standard dilutions and use these CConst fields in a custom field.
