Empower: Whats is the difference between Raw data and meta data

Whats is raw data and meta data ?, in result Review window which one raw data and which one meta data ?

Answers

  • Raw data would be the chromatogram of the unprocessed and unreviewed sample or standard, its the raw or pure signal. Metadata is data connected to that chromatogram such as acquired by,channel  ID etc.
  • Although..   in some regulatory guidances.. all information required to reproduce a generated result is thought of as "raw data"... including sample weights, dilutions methods etc etc...  in Chromatography we traditionally called the channel or the recorded signal only as raw data, but actually so much of the "meta data" is critical for the calculations.
