Estimating peak width?

Is there a way to estimate how to set (global) Peak Width? As in, is there a certain entry in the Peaks table that you can use to estimate if a peak will be detected with the set Peak Width?

I know that ApexTrack can determine values automatically but I often have to change those defaults. Currently I just use the default and then change it (+/- 5) until I get the desired peaks detected (or not).

  • I don't think so.  I think that would likely require some level of AI functionality as it would need to assess/re-assess good/bad integration with automated peak identification as it proposed new processing parameters.

Apex works in that you are essentially telling the software to improve integration of an already identified peak by analyzing the peak start/end (simple calculation of slopes) and translate that to a peak width that would best achieve that specific result.
