HILIC - system conditions

Hi,

We're developing a method using an Acquity UPLC BEH HILIC column - it's the first time I've used this separation technique, much more comfortable with reverse phase so it's hurting my brain a little!

Our initial gradient starts at 95% MeCN/5% buffer and our analyte is eluting where we want, but the peak shape is poor. I'm guessing this could be caused by the wash solutions or the sample diluent.

At the moment sample diluent is 80%MeCN/20% H2O and both strong and weak needle washes are 75%MeCN/25%MeOH.

I think the weak needle wash is OK (according to the column care notes), but can anyone suggest any changes I could make to improve the chromatography.

Thanks
