Using Empower for Column log

<p>I'm curious if anyone out there has tried to use Empower as a column log (for HPLC columns)?  We currently record our column ID for each run in our sample sets.</p><p>Someone was asking if it would be possible to create a report that showed something like the number of injections for each column, the plates, resolution, etc.</p><p>If anyone has tried something like this I would like to hear about it.  Were you able to do it using custom fields or did you have to go through the backend and use</p><p>the toolkit?  Were you able to create something that could be used by users on a regular basis or only administrators?</p><p></p><p>Thanks for any insight or advice anyone can provide.</p><p></p><p>Chris</p>

    When you say you record it in the sample sets, is it a sample custom field so that each row in the sample set has the ID entered?  Or are you using a sample set custom field?

    If you use a sample custom field you can use the channel view filter to display all channels with a specific column ID.  You can also create reports filtered by column ID that can then report system suitability for a specific column.
