  • Hello. The Sirocco Plate has a stack of membranes and a filter. The bigger mesh sizes are in the 1 micron range. These act like a 'screen', keeping much of the precipitate away from the surface of the filter and plugging it. The Sirocco Plate acts as a 0.45 micron filter. We tested both 0.22 micron and 0.45 micron porosities during the development of the product. We felt that the flow characteristics with 0.45 micron porosity were much better.

    I hope this information helps.
