Empower2 connection to the Waters 2998 PDA Detector

We are having an issue with connecting a Waters 2998 PDA Detector (Network) with our Empower2 FR5 SPH enterprise application. The 2998 PDA Detector firmware is at version 1.40 and the ICS Waters 2998 PDA Detector is at version 1.30.1166. The 2998 detector will display but everything is "red". See the attached print screen.

Has anyone seen this issue before? If yes, what was the solution?

  • I don't have a solution but I think I have the same issue:

Empower 2 Enterprise FR5 SPG, the 2998 is on firmware version 1.31.5142, and I get the same screen, when I start the lamp light is black then it turns red but not green, I manage to do a monitor even on 3 simultaneous wavelengths.

Only suggestion I had so far is to upgrade the firmware, I was informed that another site has the 2998 on firmware 1.40.5776.

  • Hi ,

Can you please provide few details related to the problem.

1.is PDA detector powering on and intialising with out any RED light ?.

2.Have you tried replacing the Connecting cable which may be faulty?.

3..Are you able to control the detector by Console without using Empower? .

4.Have you tried reconfiguring the 2998 Detector again as a new instrument in Empower and is the communication re established by doing so ?

5.If every thing is fine then we have to check the PDA Icop/firmware for latest version ?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

I talked with one of the Waters Corp DataNetwork Specilist. They had me uninstall and re-install the 2998 PDA Detector Driver on the LACE computer using the ICS Delivery Management console. This resolved my problem.

  • Hi, weird problem, seems to have been the network card it was showing a delay of a couple of ms, moved the network cable to another nic card and delay came down to 1 or 0ms , the problem disappeared so far.

  • Hi,
