Difference between numbers for the curve effects

Could someone explain me what is the difference between curve effect number 1 (Immediately goes to the specified conditions) and number 11 (Maintains start conditions until mext step).
What start condition is ment here? Is 1 en 11 not exactely the same thing?

It means that the gradiënt 3.0 / 97.0 pumps until the time 1.70, last second?
Yes.  At 1.2 min, it is pumping at 3/97.  With a curve of 11, it just stays at 3/97 until the next step at 1.7 min.  At 1.7 min, it makes an immediate jump to 95/5.

When there was a number 1 curve it still pumps 3.0 / 97.0 until the time is 1.70, but not last second?
Sorry for the confusion, but no.  If you were using a curve of 1, the jump is at the beginning of the segment at 1.2 min.  When the injection reaches 1.2 min, it makes an immediate jump to 95/5.

So the "segment" is the two rows.  A value of 1 makes the change at the beginning between them at the first possible second, an 11 makes the change at the end at the last possible second.  The values 2 through 10 make a more gradual change rather than a full 100% step.  A value of 6 is most linear and smooth.

  • Essentially, both start at the initial conditions of the step in the gradient.  A 1 would see an immediate, 100% change where 11 would see it delayed until the last possible second between the two rows of the gradient table.  See page 3-4 of the attached help file for the curve parameter.  It has a handy graphic.

Generally everyone uses a 6 for most applications.  I'll use a 1 or 11 during a shutdown portion of an IM or during a cleaning cycle scenario.

  • OK great , it's absolutly cristalclear. thank you
