Whats the difference between RRF and Impurity RRF

Both RRF and Impurity RRF appear in the components tab, what is the difference exactly?

There's quite a few "Tip of the week" entries around impurity processing:

The latest, #78, has a little info on the difference...basically compare step 1 and step 2.  My interpretation of this is that the typical "RRF" is really for when you want to specify the curve reference (maybe you have 2 APIs and are saying API1_Deg uses API1 whereas API2_Deg uses API2 for curve references).  The "Impurity RRF" allows the user to simplify by assigning a single, default peak instead which means you don't need to add every integrated peak to the component table.

Ultimately, there doesn't seem to be any other practical difference.

  • RRF or RRT ?
  • RRF for relative response factor
  • Relative Response Factor (RRF) is an analytical parameter used in chromatographic procedures to control impurities/degradants in drug substance and drug product.
RRF is used to correct the difference in detector response of impurities with analyte peak.
    Calculation of RRF:
Relative Response Factor (RRF) = Response Factor A / Response Factor B

Response Factor = Peak Area / Concentration
